We aim to give an opportunity for amateur singers of all standards to have access to many different types of music. The choir numbers about 50 regular members, some of whom are good readers of music with considerable experience of choral singing, while others are less experienced musicians who come because they enjoy singing in congenial company, while at the same time extending their musical skills. This wide range of ability enables us to perform some of the great masterpieces of the choral repertoire, such as Bach's St John Passion or Mozart's Requiem, as well as songs from the shows, partsongs, madrigals and folksongs.
We rehearse on Tuesdays in Fletching Village Hall ( see rehearsal schedule) from 7.45 to 9.45 p.m. We give three or four concerts a year, including an Easter concert and an Advent Concert, the venue for each being a Sussex Church, at which a major choral work is normally performed, and a summer concert, with long picnic interval, in June.
Our next concert will be on
Saturday 30th November, 2019
St Andrews and St Mary's Church, Fletching
See our 'Next Concert' page for more details.
Based in the ancient village of Fletching, near Uckfield, we have performed a wide variety of choral music in mid-Sussex for over 30 years - from folksongs to Latin Masses - and have built up a large and loyal following in the local community.
